2. God-Centered Evangelism
R.B. Kuiper
A work which covers the whole spectrum of themes on evangelism, from its origin in God himself, to the assurance of its ultimate triumph. Here we have the theology of evangelism, and evangelism without scriptural theology has lost its moorings. R.B. Kuiper's writing, as his preaching and lecturing, was always characterized by clarity and simplicity.
John Murray The book begins with God as the author of evangelism, and shows the relation of his love, election, covenant and commission to it. There are chapters on scope, urgency, motive, aim, agent, approach, means, message, method, effectiveness and triumph of evangelism. Dr. Kuiper also deals with zeal for co-operation in, and resistance to evangelism. A student of B.B. Warfield, on whom he made a deep impression, Dr. Kuiper had a distinguished career in the pastoral and teaching ministry. He was President of Calvin College (1930-33) and Professor of Practical Theology at Westminster Theological Seminary (1933-1925).

3. The Soul Winner
Charles Spurgeon
One of the most effective evangelists of all time. Under his ministry Victorian London saw revival on a scale never seen since. Yet Spurgeon would be the first to point your finger away from himself to the true author of repentance and reformation – he realised that without God at work, he could do nothing.
Many people sought Spurgeon's advice on evangelism and preaching and so he addressed a wide variety of different groups of people on the subject. Here is a collection of his lectures and talks to take people away from human inspired gimmickry and slavish mimicry to think through for themselves how to enable God to work in their lives and ministry.

4. Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God
J.I. Packer
If God is in control of everything, can Christians sit back and not bother to evangelize?
Or does active evangelism imply that God is not really sovereign at all?
J.I. Packer shows in this classic study how both of these attitudes are false. In a careful review of the biblical evidence, he shows how a right understanding of God's sovereignty is not so much a barrier to evangelism as an incentive and powerful support for it.

5. The Invitation System
Iain Murray
Almost all who claim to be Christians are agreed on the need for evangelism. However, evangelicals are still distinguished by their authoritative proclamation of man's state in sin, necessitating a personal response to Christ in repentance and faith. As distinct from vaguer conceptions, evangelicals believe in the new birth of individuals. In recent years, however, the pattern in which such conversions are most frequently expected to occur has been linked with the practice of calling people to the front during an evangelistic service. This is 'the invitation system' characteristic of modern mass evangelism.
