In January we organized and planned our activities for the year. We had three meetings with the leaders and planned the activities that we are going to have with the athletes this year. One of our purposes is to have a stronger influence on the athletes and to be a living Gospel for them.
We will have three training camps and the summer camp, when we are going to have Bible lessons with the athletes. Daniel is a student in Chisinau, but he comes home every two weeks, in order to supervise his disciples, Gheorghita in Brinza and Stefan in Colibas. Stefan is a Christian and he holds on to our vision, but Gheorghita didn’t get baptized and it is more difficult to work with him. We pray that the Lord would transform him and help him be dedicated to our heavenly Father.
The church planting ministry in Larga
I carried on the Bible study I am doing with Tudor and Mariana and their seven children. We visit them every Sunday afternoon. There were two times when they had to leave, but we had the Bible study during the week and they were still open to the Word of God. I visited them this Monday and they said, “We’ve studied this lesson!” And I said, “Okay, then let’s talk about it!”
I would like to share with you about an experience they had after they repented. Two days after their repentance, Tudor fell from a truck, but nothing happened to him. When they told me about this (as they share with us about their experiences with the Lord on a regular basis), my first thought was that Satan was tempting them. But Tudor and Mariana told us with so much enthusiasm that the Lord had protected him. They’ve had many experiences ever since. Our church helped them with food supplies and they were so glad for the grace they had received. We also had the possibility to give them a table and seven chairs for the children, so they could do their homework. When we had Bible study, most of them were writing lying on the floor and it is not very warm there, as they live in an old house. Still, we enjoy the time we spend together studying the Word of God.
