Church Planter - North India
After graduating from a theological seminary in 1991, Kunal began his ministry as a church planter in India. He is currently pastoring a church in a city of North India, and he is burdened for preaching the Gospel in the surrounding villages that are still unreached. He has been able to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in over 50 villages that had previously never been reached, and he continues to labor in this ministry of evangelism.
Testimony of Conversion
I was born and brought up in a nominal Christian family. During my childhood, I always went to Sunday school and participated in all the church activities. As I grew up in this church, I began to see that I had never been born again. I was continuing to live in rebellion to God, and I never confessed and repented of my sins. There was no one in that church that could lead me and guide me in truth, so I began to attend a different church.
At the new church I heard about what it meant to be born again and what it was to be a Christian. The preacher was teaching on the story of Nicodemus, that unless a man is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of Heaven. I knew that I was not born again. I began to think about my life, and considered how I might enter the Kingdom of God. The Lord showed me that the only Savior is Jesus, and it was then that I repented of my sins and trusted in Jesus Christ. The life that I now have as a born again believer is much different than the life that I had when I used to think that I was a Christian.
I began to study the Scriptures, and as I was reading the Word of God, in Isaiah 41:10, I sensed that the Lord was calling me into His ministry. In July of 1986 I became convinced of His calling on my life, and I began to pray about planting churches in places where there were not any churches. I waited one year after that and devoted myself to wholehearted prayer, and in 1987 God opened the door for me to go study in a theological seminary, where I studied for four years. Once I graduated, I spent a year doing ministry in a town in North India, and then in 1992 I began to pastor a church in a different city in North India.
The church I pastor right now is called Bible Believing Church, and my desire is still to plant churches in the surrounding towns where there are no churches, and also to minister in the big city where there are many very educated people who have not listened to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
