I thank God for the past month during which I witnessed his faithful and gracious providence in my life and ministry for his name's sake. I would also like to express my heartfelt thanks to HeartCry and all its partners for your prayers, for your loving concern and especially for your faithful partnership and support to me and to the ministry here. Let me thank you again for arranging my recent trip to Cambodia. It was a truly humbling and precious experience. I learned a lot from the teaching, the fellowship and the overall experience during there. In fact, I learned so great lessons in a unique way for which I thank God very much. I thank God for divine providence and the way God leads his dear children along.
By the grace of God, my small congregation is doing well. I have been preaching regularly on the Lord's days and in midweek evening gatherings. Members have been blessed by messages in the Old Testament on the Passover (Exodus 12), the Day of Atonement (Leviticus 16), and, which point to, the Substitutionary Atonement of Christ, his role of paschal lamb and his office of priestly mediator from the selected verses of the New Testament, largely from Hebrews. Some members are from liberal background. So I have been emphasizing on Salvation by grace alone and faith alone, which is the basis for a life of love and holiness. My sermons are regularly listened by some hundreds of Lahu people on the social network application. At the Bible school, I am teaching on survey of the Prophetic books (OT) and survey on the epistles (NT). Please pray for my church members and the students so that they would increase in the knowledge of saving grace and are well equipped by the sound teaching in order to stand firm on the gospel amidst the false teaching of prosperity gospel which is spreading out across the churches. Please pray especially for me, for my ministry in Myanmar and in bordering China so God would continue to use me for the sake of His glory.
I had a time of prayer and meeting with the other HC missionaries and we were mutually encouraged and blessed. Their faithfulness to God, commitment to the gospel ministry and hardworking has been an encouragement for me too. Please pray for them as they live among the indigenous people and minister to them with daily challenges and difficulties amidst unstable political situation of a certain special region. The book printing process, Lahu translation of The Gospel's Power & Message by Paul Washer, to complete in next month. Please continue to pray for this and for the distribution too, and for more works on translation in future. Your prayer for my family is much appreciated and please continue to pray for us, for our health in particular this time. Thank you very much and God bless you.
Yours faithfully in Christ,
JH (September 2017)
